Celebrating 11 Fabulous Years: SHORTSTOP Celebrity Golf Tournament

.

12th Annual SHORTSTOP Celebrity Golf Classic

Friday, September 19, 2008

The Twelfth Annual SHORTSTOP Celebrity Golf Tournament was held at Strawberry Farms Golf Club Friday, September 19, 2008.  Bill Grenner with K&L Gates LLP was this years Tournament Chairman.  Bill and his committee did an amazing job organizing this year’s Fiesta event.  Not only was this event fun it was profitable raising over $90,000 for SHORTSTOP and the programs of the Orange County Bar Foundation.  Our sincerest thanks to all the fabulous volunteers who helped plan the tournament, to our sponsors who make this event possible and to our golfers who come out for the day to make this a successful fundraising event.

With perfect golfing weather, golfers showed up early and began registering for the tournament by 10:00 AM.  The putting contest, a pair of golf shoes for each golfer and a delicious BBQ lunch were featured before teeing off at noon.  To keep the fun going we had some really exciting hole sponsors out on the course beginning at hole one with 4 Copas Tequila serving organic tequila.

Upon the golfers return from their 18 holes they entered the Strawberry Farms Barn for a Fiesta.  Chips & salsa and margaritas greeted them and silent and live auction items were displayed awaiting their generous bids. Awarding the trophies & emceeing was Chairman Bill Grenner.  This years Legal Eagle Cup was proudly awarded to Allianz Global Investors – Congratulations!

A special thank you to John C. Herklotz of American Happenings for his ninth year Title Sponsor support of $15,000!
